‘Earth’s Last Battle Cry’, by Steve Portchmouth. Carved from sweet chestnut, this piece features the pagan figure known as the Green Man, who is seen attempting to protect the world from serpents, representing mankind, who are seeking to destroy it. The sculpture was commissioned by KCC Planning Department and sited in Shorne Wood Country Park.

The prize money was used to create new wooden sculptures to form part of the family trail at Shorne Wood Country Park. ‘Charting the Changes’, by Steve Geliot, John Fortnum, Amanda Randall, Mark Folds and Nicholas Martin. Charting the Changes began as a reminiscence and storytelling project which examined the changes in landscape and land use in the Luton, Lordswood and Capstone area of Chatham. The project was commissioned by the City of Rochester-upon-Medway. The prize money was used to present family event(s) with the artists and storyteller Helen East.
